16,500 Gallon Tank Car

This 16,500 USG I/C tank car is lined and is designed for the transportation of caustic soda. It is equipped with a 20-inch 8-bolt manway, a 165 psi pressure relief valve, and a top fittings arrangement consisting of 1- and 2-inch valves, a thermowell, and a vacuum relief valve to accommodate closed system loading and unloading. The bottom outlet is a 4-inch steam jacketed ball valve. The car is fitted with an 8-line exterior steam heater coil system and 4-inch thermal insulation. Optional steam or electrical heating systems are available as well as enhanced insulation configurations.

This 20,500 gallon tank car is designed for the transportation of Urea Ammonium Nitrate (non-regulated) and products authorized by DOT Part 173 for which there are no special commodity requirements and non-regulated commodities compatible with this class of car. It is equipped with a 20-inch 8-bolt manway, a 75 psi pressure relief valve, and a top fittings arrangement consisting of 2- and 3-inch valves, a thermowell, and a vacuum relief valve to accommodate closed system loading and unloading. The bottom outlet is a 4-inch steam jacketed ball valve. This car is fitted with a 12-line exterior heating coil system and 4” thermal insulation. Various options for loading/unloading valve configurations and alternate heater coil and insulation systems are available.

Various options for loading/unloading valve configurations are available depending on service requirements.

31,800 Gallon Tank Car

This 31,800 gallon (US) non-coiled and non-insulated tank car has been designed with a 286,000 lb gross rail load for the transportation of crude oil and other flammable liquids. The car is equipped with a 20-inch, eight (8) cast steel bolt style manway, and a 165 psi McKenzie pressure relief valve. Various options for loading/unloading valve configurations are available depending on the service requirements. The car is equipped with half height head shields made from 1/2 inch thick Grade 5- steel and with top fittings protection, including the pressure relief valve, in accordance with AAR M-1002 requirements.
