In 2008, Greenbrier celebrated ten years of doing business in Europe. We are proud of what we have achieved in those ten years. Greenbrier has grown to be one of the leading wagon builders in Europe.
On March 18th, 2009 Greenbrier Europe officially handed over the 600th Shimmns ttu wagon to ERR European Rail Rent GmbH. The hand-over took place at the facility of Wagony Swidnica S.A., a freight wagon manufacturer, owned by The Greenbrier Companies. The delegation from ERR was led by Mr. Rainer Kunze, Managing Director.
With the delivery of the 600th unit to ERR, Greenbrier completed the performance of the total contracted quantity of modern wagons designed for transportation of steel coils.
The successful collaborative efforts of the engineering and commercial personnel from Greenbrier and ERR from the beginning proved to be very beneficial for both companies. The design has been highly appreciated by the customer. In comparison to similar products, it represents the lowest possible tare weight, maximum axle payload of 25T/axle (total payload of 100T) and the safest way to secure cargo on the wagon.
