These gondolas use an innovative formula for ultra-high-strength, lighter-weight steel, reducing each gondola’s unloaded weight by up to 15,000 pounds. This gondola features a unique “tub design” that eases product hangup during loading/unloading.
This railcar was designed as part of the joint initiative with Norfolk Southern and earned Norfolk Southern’s Thoroughbred Sustainability Partner Awards for Innovation.
